Homemade Slip 'N Slide

Yesterday, my grandson got to go to a family cookout with his step-mom, brother, and sister. She bought the kids a Slip 'N Slide, but when she hooked the hose up to it, it split down the seams. So she spread a tarp out on the lawn, squirted it all over with Dawn dish soap to make it slick, then sprayed it down with water to make it good and wet.

To keep it wet, she turned the water pressure down on the hose and positioned it on the tarp. The kids were having blast running and sliding on this soapy tarp. The best part was that the tarp was bigger than the Slip 'N Slide, so more than one kid could play at a time.

After the summer fun is over, you have a tarp you can recycle to cover your BBQ grill or air conditioner.
