What is this bug? I'm afraid it's bed bugs, but I found it in my bathroom. This is the third time I've seen one in the past week.
These are water beetles or what some people call carpet beetles. They come in the home from the drains and love to be in wet moist places.
This insect is from the family Elateridae- commonly called Click Beetle. Other names include elaters, snapping beetle , spring beetle. These insects are outdoor insects. Sometimes they make a way into your home. They are not bed bugs( they are Beetles). Regular insecticide should take care of them.
I found this bug shell in a dresser drawer. Any idea what it belongs to?
I am not an expert, but it looks like a dead bed bug. They are that color and shape. Hopefully you don't see any more of these (dead or living).
If you are in the US, upload a (clearer) photo to your local home extension office and get them to weigh in.

Post back what you learn!
I have been finding these bugs on my dog near his butt and back area. He wears his flee collar all the time so does anyone have any idea what bug this is and why all of a sudden I'm finding them?
Found these in my bathroom. Any idea what they are? Any help is appreciated! (Pic is zoomed in)
It seems to me that your bugs do not have long antennas like cockroaches. This why I think these are Water Bugs.
Water Bugs are normally black and they look very similar to black cockroaches. The main difference between a Cockroach and a Water Bug is a very long antenna of Cockroach.
Any ideas what kind of bug this is? It was found in the bedroom. Doesn't look like a bed bug, totally stumped.
This brown insect is in the beetle family - often called a Biscuit Beetle , Bread Beetle and common name - Drugstore Beetle .
This insect loves warm weather and moisture, and tends to go for dry fibers . It is a insect that is seasonal and does not rarely appear in cold weather or regions . en.wikipedia.org/
Can anyone identify these please?
1. Black beetle found by bathroom sink.
2. Brown beetle found in lounge (I have been told it could be a furniture beetle.)
The beetle that is in your sink looks like a Foreign grain beetle. They are found in areas around August to September and love to live in moist areas with water present. This is the same image as the beetle on your sofa.
I'm wondering if this is a biting midge? Been getting bit up in the house. The first pic, it is on a paper towel and the second one is zoomed in.
This looks just like -Ceratopogonidae- better known as No- See- Ums, or biting Midges. This painful, itchy insect multiplies if not taken care of. They consist of male and female.
A few of these have been found on some socks and some in the carpet near the baseboards.
As you gave no indication of size, it's hard to be sure, but from the photo alone it looks like a Flour Beetle, of which there are several different ones. Have you seen any in your kitchen or pantry? They are usually associated with grains, rice, beans, cereals. Double check these food items for signs of any bugs.
The other possibility is a Brown Click Beetle.
Either way, check these two bugs out on-line to see if they are one of these.
Good luck.
Third time I find this whole lint rolling on my room floor. Dead every time. What is it?
Rest assure, not bed bugs! The long name for this insect is Armadillidiidae- better known for a short name is Rollie Polies, Pill Bugs, and slaters. Here is more info on this insect - en.wikipedia.org/
I am looking to see if anyone knows what this is? I found one on my bathroom floor and one on my bedroom floor. Tonight, one was crawling across my made bed.
From the image they look like a carpet beetle. But it is really hard to say if this is true or not. If the image was much clearer it would be easier to see if this was actually a carpet beetle or a bed bug. No matter what they must be taken out of your home. I would lay down some sticky flypaper and try to trap as many as possible. Each day vacuum the area and throw the bag away in the trash can when done.
The picture is not very clear and when the subject is so far away the picture just blurs when you try to enlarge it.
It definitely could be a beetle but you do not say if they fly or if they seem to have a 'hard' shell so it could be any number of different bugs.
Hopefully there will not be anymore - as you could have brought them in with groceries or bags or even a plant and this is all there are around.
However, it may be a good idea to check your pantry to see if there are any bugs in your food boxes/containers as these are the most common types of beetles along with the carpet beetle that will eat almost anything in your house.
You can also send pictures (if you see more bugs) to your county extension agency and ask for help as they are familiar with the most common bugs in your area and helping with this type of problem is part of their job.
I just found a live and a dead brown/grayish bug on my bed. Is there anyone that maybe able to help me identify it?
It's thin and long, but very tiny. Any help? I would greatly appreciate it.Boy I've read so many answers to this same question online because I have seen them too and I actually showed one to a ambulance driver and friend and he said that it was atiopolibi or something and I googled it and it said they are living by or on forest type trees and foliage and we have a lot of pine
These small bugs live outside in your garden and most people just call them beetles but some will call them by their scientific name. They are harmless but are a pain. If you have or start to see a lot more in your home you can put down some sticky tape like people use to trap flies with to get them out of your home.
I have noticed there are some tiny dark brown oval curved insects in my apartment recently. They are everywhere, in the closet, kitchen, bathrooms, and even on the ceiling. I found 6-7 of them since last week and I have no idea what are they.
They don't seem to fly nor jump. They just walk, not really fast and it's easy to catch them. I have a baby and a cat and I am afraid they may cause them some health issues. It looks like a beetle. Notify the landlord
