Candle Wax on a Down Comforter?

First pick off as mush as possible. Then "iron" out the rest. Lay down an old towel, cover with a stack of newspaper, then paper towels. Then lay down the comforter. Cover wax with paper towels and then iron.

Change the paper towels as they become saturated with the melted wax. This also works on carpet but be careful not to get the iron too hot, it may melt the carpet.

I'd try dipping only the whole waxed area into hot water quickly then quickly remove and immediately scrape any warm/hot wax off with folded paper towel . If any of the pink still shows but seems to be mostly gone, I'd spray a terry rag with some WD-40 and try rubbing the pink out, using a light circular motion. After THAT, I'd wash just that spot with a drop of white Ivory dish liquid and scrub between your hands until gone, then rinse just the wet area with cool water and then air dry.

Do not saturate the spot with too much WD-40 off your rag, so that you will be less likely to have a light "ring" from the pink color. If that happens, since the Down Comforters are usually Egyptian Cotton, and WHITE? you can make a weakened solution of 2 drops of bleach in 1 bleach CAPful of very warm water and apply JUST TO THE STAINED AREA with a q-tip.

If NOT pure white in color, but is creamy or antique white, do NOT bleach at all.

Don't worry too much about the down inside, because there should be enough when dry to fluff
the spot out again, OR you can iron the spot lightly
with a synthetic setting on your iron, and quickly, not staying on the fabric too long. This should be good
as new, unless the wax/stain is worse than I imagine. Good luck and God bless and help you. : )

Editor's Note: If you use the iron, make sure that you put some paper toweling or an old t-shirt on the wax before ironing. Don't iron directly on the wax or it will melt it into the down.
